This course builds on Writing for Publication: Session 1. Students deepen their awareness of rhetorical structures and conventions of a research article. In the previous course, they outlined the abstract of a research article and described the methods and results of their research. In this course, they then cover more difficult passages such as the introduction and discussion. The writing process is broken down into smaller steps as students formulate their research purpose and learn to think about their article in an argumentative way. In this course, we are primarily concerned with the structure and content of the text, not with grammar. The prerequisite for entry to WriPub2 is the successful completion of WriPub1. The course lasts 15 weeks and follows the same principles as WriPub1, i.e. students write about their research gradually, supported by feedback. The course is delivered online on the Moodle e-learning platform and includes 2-3 face-to-face whole-group and individual meetings with the instructor.
