This course follows the introductory A1/I course and is intended for beginners who have completed one semester of Czech studies. Participants will learn the basics of Czech pronunciation, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and the language needed for everyday communication.
The grammar covered includes possessive pronouns, verbs ending in ‑OVAT and the structure rád dělat, the accusative and locative singular, modal verbs, telling time and dates, and the past tense.
Communication topics include family, arranging meetings, preferences, famous personalities and Czech history, and weather.
The course is taught using a communicative approach to ensure it is practical and engaging for participants. Instruction takes into account the professional needs of those working in science and research. The course is taught by a Czech teacher who can explain selected language points in English if needed.
Textbooks are available with support in English, German, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, and Spanish.
