This course is intended for lower-intermediate students who have either completed our A2/I course or acquired basic Czech in other programs. Participants are expected to have completed Čeština expres 3, at least 18 lessons from Czech Step by Step 1, or approximately 200×45-minute lessons in previous courses. Students in this course will consolidate and expand their knowledge at the A2 level.
The course is specifically designed for learners whose native languages are not Slavic—such as Romance, Germanic, or Indo-Aryan languages.
The grammar content focuses particularly on all plural case forms, the imperative, verbal aspect, the passive voice, pronouns, and adverbs.
The communicative and vocabulary topics include shopping, dealing with official matters, work, pets, life stages and education, cooking, traveling around the Czech Republic, and various events.
The course is taught in a communicative and practical manner, ensuring it is engaging and relevant for students. Instruction is adapted to the professional needs of those working in science and research. The course is led by a Czech teacher who is also able to explain certain concepts in English when needed.
Textbooks are available with support in English, German, and Spanish.
